Hello crafty friends and welcome to the Reverse Confetti Blog Hop for the January release! Today’s the day to go shopping! It’s a fun release with new stamp sets and Confetti Cuts with the themes of Valentine’s Day, florals, and well wishes. Please be sure to check out the full hop list to see the amazing inspiration from the whole design team!

My card today features the new Stitched Daisies Confetti Cuts and the Poppies stamp set. I used the cover plate in a slightly unconventional way by making my own stitching die. I’ve recently caught the stitching bug and love to incorporate it whenever I can!

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS:

  1. Die cut the Stitched Daisies cover plate Confetti Cuts twice from heavyweight, white cardstock.
  2. On one of the die cuts, use a needle or your “pokey tool” to pierce the die cut. I pierced it once in the center of the flower and twice on each petal. But you may want a different pattern, so you can be creative with how you pierce it.
  1. Using two shades of purple DMC thread, I stitched each flower, alternating colors on each petal.
  2. After stitching, I glued the second die cut to the stitched panel for added stability and dimension, and adhered it to an A2-sized card base.
  3. Die cut two hearts from the Lovely Tag Confetti Cuts with blue and purple cardstock and adhere them together with foam tape.
  4. Stamp and heat emboss a sentiment from the Poppies stamp set on vellum. Hand cut the sentiment strip into a flag and adhere with small dots of liquid glue behind the embossing.
  5. Add jewels to the centers of each flower with liquid glue.

Take a look at your dies to see where you might poke holes and add your own stitching; it is a fun way to stretch your supplies. And please don’t forget to hop along to see even more inspo. Thank you for stopping by!
