Card Kit Spotlight – MFT Stamps

I’m back with more inspiration using items from the newest MFT Stamps card kit, Christmas Poinsettias. If you love this kit, run to the shop and pick it up! I have a feeling it won’t last for a long time. Yesterday, I played with all die cuts, but today I am pairing the dies with the Pressed Poinsettias stamp set. I recently saw a video from Dawn at Wplus9 and was inspired to create this card by stamping with my distress mica sprays.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Spray various pink/red shades of distress ink and distress mica spray on a silicone mat. Spray a tiny bit of water as well.
  2. Using a stamp block, stamp the poinsettias from Pressed Poinsettias on cream colored mixed media cardstock.
  3. After finishing with the red inks, use another piece of mixed media paper to pick up the rest of the ink on your mat to die cut from. Die cut the Winter Poinsettias Die-namics from the panel.
  4. Do the same thing, but with green distress mica sprays for the leaves in the stamp set.
  5. Stamp the branch and pink berries with oxide inks. Spray the stamp after inking with a little water prior to stamping to carry on the watercolor look.
  6. Splatter the panel with inks in a similar color and water. Then distress the edges with scissors and lightly ink with brown ink.
  7. Tear the corner and behind it, place a scrap of patterned paper from Falling for Houndstooth.
  8. Matte the card front with kraft cardstock and adhere to an A2 card base.
  9. On top of the stamped poinsettias, adhere the die cut poinsettias on top. Ink blend dark red ink to the centers for a little more dimension. Trim the overhanging poinsettia leaves.
  10. Embellish with vintage gold pearls.
  11. White heat emboss a sentiment from Christmas Wishes on red cardstock. Die cut with the coordinating die-namics. Adhere to the card front on top of a piece of mummy cloth and gold twine.
