Bibi’s Snowflakes – Spellbinders

Hey friends! I am back with more inspiration using Spellbinders products. Spellbinders gifted me the Snowflake Card Creator die set (thank you!) and I made one holiday or winter card with it. The snowflake is very pretty, but I had a lot of trouble die cutting the detail layer with my Gemini Jr. The detail layer is very, very delicate. I recommend maybe using some extra shims or even a metal shim. Once I got the delicate layer die cut and adhered, I cut it in half so I could make another of the same card. All that work, I better get two cards out of it, ha!

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Emboss a panel of white cardstock with the Flurry of Snowflakes 3d embossing folder. This folder is gorgeous, but you do want to make sure you have the right set up for a 3d folder. The Universal Plate System is exactly what you need and it works perfectly with the Platinum 6.
  2. Adhere the panel to an A2 card base.
  3. Spray a panel of heavy stock or watercolor paper with Distress mica stains in winterberry and peppermint.
  4. Once the panel is dry, die cut the shadow layer of the Snowflake Creator die. Die cut the detail layer from white cardstock and adhere together. Cut the panel in half so you can create another card, if desired. Add the half to the card front.
  5. Die cut the accompanying leaves, poinsettias, and evergreen branches from white cardstock, silver glitter cardstock, and leftover pieces from the distress spray stain panel. Ink blend the white leaves/stem with light gray ink. I found it was getting lost with the white detail snowflake.
  6. For the sentiment, use the Betterpress System and the Holly Tree Press Plate and Die on Pebble cotton cardstock to create the sentiment. Die cut it with the included circle die.
  7. Arrange and adhere the die cuts and sentiment with liquid glue and foam tape for varied dimension.
  8. Embellish with silver sequins.

I appreciate you stopping by!

Tiffany
