Paper Hugs – MFT Stamps

Today’s inspiration features the Paper Planes Stamp & Die Duo in a simple design. This stamp set is so cute and the perfect way to send a friend some encouragement or a happy hello. I incorporated a little mixed media on this card too. Mixed media doesn’t have to be complicated or elaborate – it’s just using more than 1 medium on a card. Texture paste through a stencil is a great way to try mixed media if you’re feeling intimidated.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Trim 0.5 inch strips of Poppin’ Pink cardstock and adhere to an A2 panel of white cardstock. To get even placement of the stripes, use a piece of the trimmed cardstock as a guide between each row. Adhere to a card base.
  2. Die cut Lazy Day cardstock with the largest in the Watercolor Rectangle STAX Die-namics.
  3. Mask off a portion of the bottom and ink blend with Lazy Day dye ink. Splatter with water and white ink.
  4. Using the Tiny Clouds stencil, stencil on opaque texture paste. This does not have to be perfect.
  5. While the paste is drying, stamp and copic color several images from Paper Planes. Die cut them out.
  6. Die cut a heart using the Heart STAX Die-namics and stamp a sentiment on it.
  7. Adhere all of the elements in place, popping up the airplane and heart cloud trail with foam tape.
