Countdown Day 1: Time to Party – MFT Stamps

One more sleep until the big release! Today, I’m sharing a fun card featuring SY Greatest Present Stamp & Die Duo. I am always looking for ways to use up patterned paper scraps so I thought this idea was fun to play with.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Using the Cascading Diamonds Background, stamp on a panel of white cardstock using MFT Grapesicle ink and a dark purple ink. You could use Boysenberry, for example, but I used a Catherine Pooler ink color. Stamp in an ombre fashion and use a blending brush to smooth the blend between the lighter and dark purples. Splatter the panel with white ink and diluted purple ink.
  2. Die cut the panel using the largest die in Blueprints 29. Behind the panel, matte it with a panel of Boysenberry cardstock that has its edges distressed. You can distress the edges with scissors or I used the Tim Holtz distress tool.
  3. Between the background layers, add in a couple strips of scrap patterned paper. Adhere at an angle so the patterns just peek out. You can rip some layers like I did or not, depending on your preference.
  4. Stamp and copic color several images from SY Greatest Present Stamp & Die Duo.
    Bunny: E30, E31, E34, E37, E39
    Blue present: BG15, BG13, BG11
    Blue violet present: BV04, BV02, BV000
    Pink present: RV66, RV13, RV11, RV00
    Ribbon: RV66
  5. Die cut the largest frame using the Diamond Frames Die-namics.
  6. Adhere the images underneath and in front of the frame. The frame and bunny are popped up with foam tape. Add a piece of torn patterned paper underneath the presents.
  7. Stamp and white heat emboss a sentiment from Essential Birthday Messages. Trim into a strip, adhere a piece of torn patterned paper underneath, add a white twine bow, and pop up with foam tape.
