Happy Hearts – The Stamp Market

::Cue music:: Can you feel the love toooonightttt?

While I do not care for Valentine’s Day, I do love love, so I wanted to share a fun, colorful card I made with love as the inspiration! My husband and I usually do not celebrate Valentine’s Day so I think this will be a perfect pick-me-up to send to a girlfriend for a galentine’s gift. Let’s spread love and kindness all year long!

Hearts Cover Die. To start my card, I die cut the Hearts Cover Die 4 times from heavyweight white cardstock. For three of the layers, I popped out all of the heart pieces and kept them to use for a future project. I glued three layers together with liquid adhesive and set aside to dry.

One layer of the die cut

With the fourth layer, I left the hearts in place and secured them with a small piece of scotch tape on the back. I did some simple Copic coloring with two makers – R35 and R37. It was ok to color outside of the lines as the edges would get covered eventually. I colored each heart with two layers of color to deepen the color and shadow.

After coloring, I splattered the hearts with silver metallic paint. I also splattered my card base with the same metallic paint. I made an A2 card base from light aqua cardstock from the Stamp Market.

Once everything was dry, I glued all of the Hearts Cover layers together making sure to align the layers perfectly. I then glued the cover piece to my card base.

Banner. For the banner, I die cut two sizes of the banner from heavyweight white cardstock. Using an R37 marker, I traced the edge of the larger banner to ensure the color matched and then adhered the smaller banner on top.

Sentiment. I die cut the largest heart from the Waffle Flower Slimline Window Trio Die from silver mirror cardstock. I then white heat embossed the letters ‘x’ and ‘o’ from the Stackable Letter Set. After embossing, all the pieces were ready for me to assemble the final card. I adhered the silver heart to the banner and the banner to the card.

Side note – The Stackable Letter set was a stocking stuffer gift from my husband and it’s such a neat product! The letters snap together so you do not have to worry about lining up the individual letter stamps. It makes for easy, customizable sentiments. There are even duplicates of commonly needed letters like ‘e’ and ‘s’!

Hope you liked my red and aqua galentine card. If you’re inspired by my design, please tag me on IG, I’d love to see what you create! Thanks for stopping by!
