Hey crafty friends! I took a few days off to celebrate my anniversary with my husband, but we’re back and I couldn’t wait to get back into my craft space. Thank you to everyone who wished us well, we had a wonderful long weekend!
I can’t believe it’s August already. I’m so ready for sweater weather, but I’m sharing another fun summer card using a few new Scrapbook.com products.
To start, I trimmed a piece of yellow paper from the Warms Slimline Paper Pad to a mini slimline size (6.25×3.25 inches) to use as my background. I used one stencil from the new Slimline Stencil bundle – the Slimline Stripe stencil. I inked squeezed lemonade distress oxide through the stencil hoping for a tone on tone look, but the ink was too light, so I decided to clear heat emboss the stripes to help them stand out more.
On a piece of distress heavy stock, I made a mixed media panel. I ink smooshed prize ribbon and squeezed lemonade, sprayed with water, and splattered with lemon gloss spray, white gloss spray, and prize ribbon distress spray stain. I really love making these types of backgrounds because it is messy fun! The distress heavy stock paper makes a big difference too. Once the panel was dry, I die cut it with Nested Stitched Scallop slimline dies and popped it up with foam for dimension.

Next, I used the new Scrapbook.com 4 inch Precision Scissors to fussy cut some images from the Simple Stories Sunkissed Collection pattern paper pad. I’ve only used them a few times, but so far, I really like the new scissors. They are small, sharp, and fussy cut really well. I also used them to cut foam strips and had no issues with them sticking. For the sun rays, I used lemon chiffon pops of color for a more playful look.
For the sentiment, I used the lowercase bold basic alpha set and Summer Beach sentiments. I die cut each word multiple times from various cardstock from the Scrapbook.com paper pads – Playful, Jewel, and Warms. These smooth cardstock paper packs are perfect because they come in A2 and slimline sizes and the colors coordinate beautifully. To add some sparkle, I used the glitter brush marker on top of the sentiment. And finally, I added a few clear sequins around the panel for a finishing touch.

Hope you enjoyed the card and are inspired to try some of the new products from Scrapbook.com! If there is anything you’d like to see more of, please let me know. Happy crafting!
