Countdown Day 1: For You – MFT Stamps

Hey friends! There’s a new card kit, Happy Occasions, coming on Tuesday that contains gorgeous blooms for all occasions. I’m always a sucker for flowers dies! I wanted to try a little mixed media and use my new Lindy’s Magicals on today’s card.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Use Lindy’s Magicals (a vibrant, pigment powder) to color multiple panels in purple (Petticoat Plum), green (Merci Beaucoup Mint), and grayish (Silent Night Silver). Use Tim Holtz watercolor paper and spray both sides with water, then sprinkle the Magical color with a fan brush on the wet watercolor paper. Spray the panel several more times to spread the color out across the panel. If there were any clumps of powder on the panel, I used my fingers to spread it out.
  2. Once dry, die cut several leaves using the Bold Greenery Die-namics from the green panel and several flowers using the Bold Blooms Die-namics from the purple panel. To vary the color of the leaves, ink blend a couple different greens on the leaves. For the flowers, ink blend blue, pink, and purple ink randomly.
  3. Adhere the flowers together with liquid glue and foam tape for varied dimension.
  4. On the grayish panel, die cut it with the Double Stitched Rectangle STAX Die-namics.
  5. Stamp with gray archival ink using the Romantic Script Background stamp.
  6. Add texture paste through the Geometric Mosaic Stencil randomly, not covering the whole stencil.
  7. Use a teal Magical (C’est La Vie Cerise) to add more color on top of the texture paste once the paste is dry.
  8. Adhere the flowers and leaves with foam tape and liquid glue. Then splatter with white paint.
  9. Stamp a sentiment from Happy Occasions and die cut it with the smallest tag die from the Stitched Traditional Tag STAX Die-namics. Add a hole on top using a hole punch. Lightly ink blend pink and teal inks on the tag corners. Finally, add a flower to the end.
  10. Die the tag with white twine around the panel. Adhere to an A2 white card base.
  11. Embellish with clear sequins around the flowers.
  12. On the inside of the card, add another sentiment from Happy Occasions and another flower.

I love the color and texture of the card! It is so fun to play with mixed media. Have you ever tried Lindy’s Magicals? Let me know if you have or if you’ve tried a different brand new medium recently for the first time. Stop by tomorrow for the release and more inspiration!
