You’ve Been on My Mind – MFT Stamps

Welcome back to my blog! MFT is releasing a brand new card kit (yes another one!) tomorrow, called You Give Me Butterflies Card Kit, and I think you’re gonna like it. I love butterflies and can never have too many butterfly products in my stash. This new kit is small, but these products are so fun to play with and they are versatile. The products in this kit can make for really easy and beautiful cards.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
  1. Create an inky panel using distress spray stains – Uncharted Mariner, Twisted Citron, Salvaged Patina, and Antique Linen – and distress oxide spray in Antique Linen. Add water to the panel, distress watercolor paper, then add color in layers, drying between layers. I used the distress oxide ink last because oxide ink will sit on top and be opaque.
  2. After the panel was dry, die cut it with the Breakthrough Butterflies Die-namics towards the right side of the panel.
  3. Add foam tape behind the panel and adhere it to an A2 sized panel of white cardstock. Splatter with gold watercolor.
  4. Stamp a sentiment from You Give Me Butterflies and trim into a strip. Add color and splatter to the sentiment so it isn’t stark white. Pop it up with foam tape and add gold thread behind it. There is a coordinating die set for the sentiments, but I did not have it at the time.
  5. Add gold glitter drops to the butterfly bodies for a little shine.

Hope you’re inspired by this card! See you tomorrow for another sample. Have a great day.
