Today’s peek at the new release showcases two new stamp sets illustrated by YUZU that are sooo dang cute! It was hard for me to choose which one to play with, but I decided on YUZU Duck, Duck, Quack because I love all things rain and umbrellas. But only on stamps, I hate rain in real life lol. I’m still feeling rusty with my colored pencils after my hiatus, so I decided to try my hand at coloring some more images from this set. I kept this card more clean and simple.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
- Using Blueprints 25 (one of my most used Blueprints), die cut a swoop from both Summer Splash and Limelight cardstocks. I thought they would be abstract sky and grass elements.
- Stamp several images from Duck, Duck, Quack on Strathmore Toned Gray paper and color with a variety of prisma colored pencils. I stamped the images in brown ink.
- After coloring, die cut the images with the coordinating die-namics. I had a very hard time lining up the die for the sun so I ended up fussy cutting that out.
- Trim a panel of Toned Gray paper to 5×3.75 inches. Stamp a sentiment in black ink at the bottom.
- Adhere the swoops and cut off the excess.
- Add the images with foam tape and liquid glue.
- Add a thin strip of rainbow patterned paper to the left side of the panel.
- Adhere to an A2 card base. Embellish with faux white splatter made using a gel pen.

I thought about adding more embellishments like gems or drops, but I restrained myself and decided to keep it simple. This sweet duck playing in a puddle is too cute. I hope you like it, and that it inspires you! See you tomorrow for more 🙂

Hi Tiffany, I love all things cute and this little duck falls right into that category (I used have a fairly large rubber ducky collection)! The sentiments are even cute. I am trying to use my old crafty supplies and not buy anything new, but I am thinking this set may have to go onto my wishlist! For someone who feels rusty with your coloring, you would never know it. Your images are AWESOME!!! I do better coloring with my copics than I do with my pencils! I just can’t bring myself to sit down and practice with my pencils! Hope you have a great week. ~Kim in Tx

Aww thank you! I just tried to color some images with copics for my card on Tuesday and it just isn’t working – ugh! I feel like if I pick up one medium, I lose skills with another lol. I hope you get some time to try with pencils soon! They are fun to play with! Or color with your copics as normal and add shading with pencils. I think that looks amazing too. You will see on my card for tomorrow, that I used copics, then added shading with pencils and I liked that result. Have a great week too!!
