Alex Syberia Designs August Release Blog Hop & Giveaway

I’m excited to be guesting for Alex again for her amazing August release! To celebrate, her design team and guests are participating in a blog hop with lots of inspiration. Of course, I am drawn to florals, so I decided to use the Andalusia Wildflowers die set with a new-to-me type of paper – crepe paper. I’ve seen so many beautiful paper flower displays, I thought I would give it a try! I purchased Sizzix crepe paper – Color Splash and Festive. They are pretty big rolls that I think would last quite a while. Imagine using ASD’s Poinsettia flowers with the red and pink crepe paper for the holidays – I think that would make a gorgeous card!

I die cut several layers from varying colors of crepe paper and adhered the layers together. I added light ink blending on the paper as well. The paper is delicate, but can withhold stretching to shape the petals and gentle ink blending. In addition to using the crepe paper, I also die cut some foliage from regular cardstock to mix in. I like the variation of textures and color to create an interesting composition.

For the background, I die cut two layers using the new Good Day Quilted Rectangles Die Set. I dry embossed the top layer using the Alhambra Arabesque Cover Die. And added some light ink blending on the sides. I adhered the flowers and leaves in place with liquid glue and splattered with gold watercolor for more shine. For the sentiment, I used the Thank You & Hello Die Set and die cut it three times from gold and white cardstock.
