Hi there! Tiffany here and I am thrilled to be guest designing for LDRS for the next two months! Today, I have a card to share using the Thankful Flowers Slimline stamp set and coordinating die. Although this set is meant for a slimline card, I used it on an A2-sized card for a different design. I love figuring out new ways to stretch the same supplies. This is a clean and simple card design that was easy to make.
On a panel of heavyweight, white cardstock, I stamped the outline floral image in black ink. I used Versafine Claire ink so I could heat emboss with clear embossing powder. To color the floral image, I used the coordinating layering stencil set. I used multiple shades of yellow, pink, and orange dye inks for the flowers and blue and green dye ink for the leaves. Don’t you love how easy it is to color a large image with coordinating stencils?!
On an A2-sized panel, I angled the completed floral stamp diagonally on the bottom portion of the panel and trimmed the excess. With the leftover pieces, I added another angled strip to the top. I adhered the strips with foam tape for added dimension. I had very few extra pieces to throw away which I was very happy about. I matted the completed panel front on a piece of black cardstock and splattered it with black ink. Pro tip: Rainbow colors look amazing with black accents. When I add black accents, I like to add them in at least three places; I think it helps make the design more cohesive. In this card, the three accents are the matte layer, ink splatters, and the sentiment.
For the sentiment, I stamped in embossing ink and heat embossed with white embossing powder. I die cut the sentiment with the coordinating sentiment die, and added a black twine bow behind the sentiment. I adhered the sentiment with liquid glue. Finally, I added some clear sequins for sparkly embellishments. Hope you enjoyed the card. Thanks for stopping by!
