Hi friends! I am so grateful to Ellen for highlighting me on the blog and on social media today! If you haven’t heard, I am taking over the Ellen Hutson Instagram TODAY (Saturday, April 2, 2022) – eeeek! It is the first time I am doing something like this so I hope all goes well. I hope you’ll pop over to the Ellen Hutson IG after reading this to engage with me over there!! I’ll be sharing tid bits of my life, crafty tips and tricks, some of my favorite tools and card projects, and more! If there’s something you want to know, message me on IG and let me know! Keep reading to the bottom – I have a surprise sale for you that you’re gonna LOVE!
I love crafting because…
I love having a fun, creative outlet! I’ve always been very creative and have always loved paper and ink, so I am surprised it took me so long to find the cardmaking world. I started crafting near the beginning of the pandemic in 2020 to help ease my anxiety and lift my spirits.
I wish I could remember my exact origin story, but I think I was searching calligraphy blogs and YouTube videos because I wanted to restart my writing hobby. During my googling, I stumbled upon Jennifer McGuire’s cardmaking videos, and the rest is history! LOL I think so many of us started because we watched a Jennifer McGuire video. Five million dollars later…here I am! LOL
Another reason I love crafting is the joy it brings others when I send out cards!
My cardmaking style is…
No style? LOL I truly make what I want depending on how I feel at the moment. If I had to describe my making style, I would say colorful and technique-y. I love trying new techniques, and I love both clean and simple cards, but also artsy, inky cards. Just depends on my mood and how the stamp set inspires me. Common themes I gravitate towards are bold, contrasting colors, patterns, asymmetry, and splatter. ๐
I find inspiration…
Everywhere! From magazines to online ads to fashion, I find unique color combos or layouts or technique ideas from everyday life. I also find a lot of inspiration from the talented cardmaking community, including stamp companies! I follow a mix of creative people on IG, not just card makers. I encourage you to follow fine artists, textile artists, graffiti artists, watercolorists, poets, creators of ALL kinds. Creativity in all its forms is contagious!
My favorite products…
See a full list of my favorite supplies here. And feel free to reach out if you want to know why a certain supply is my favorite ๐
Here’s a card I made…
Your turn! Please tell me in the comments what about crafting brings you joy? I hope you’ll follow my blog, follow me on Instagram, and follow the amazing Ellen Hutson on Instagram too!

Hi Tiffany & congrats on being a member of the EH team! Fun to learn a little about you. Amazing you’ve just started making cards! I’ve been at it for over 20 years! I love that it gives me a connection with so many people all over the world & let’s me do something creative with other people’s designs even though I have no artistic talents. Don’t have any CP inks, but I do have about a million ink pads–haha!

Aw thank you so much, Greta! I love the connection aspect too. Even with people I know, I send cards as a way to stay connected since I’m not a big phone person. One of my favorite things is seeing how everyone takes the same stamp or die and creates something completely different. Trust me, you will LOVE CP inks if you give them a try. I might do a personal giveaway of a few pads ๐

Cute rainbow card! I too love colorful cards, and to learn new techniques. Even when I find some techniques I’ll likely never repeat, it’s still fun to try it out.
