Alex Syberia Designs May Release Blog Hop & Giveaway

(*Affiliate links used whenever possible at no extra cost to you.)

Welcome back to my blog, friends! It feels like it has been awhile since I’ve posted. Last week I went to Simon Says Stamp’s CREATE event in Columbus, Ohio. I had so much fun! I was honored to represent Alex Syberia at her make and take table. I loved teaching crafters new techniques and all about the brand and its gorgeous products! The CREATE crowd got a sneak peek of the new release and could buy at the event, but today the May release is live for the rest of the world! And of course, it is amazing! To celebrate the release, we are doing a blog hop today and an IG hop tomorrow. There are prizes to be won so please scroll down to see the giveaway information and the entire blog hop order. I am last on the hop so you can start the hop over at the ASD blog. Don’t forget to check out the Alex Syberia shop to see even more amazing products and inspiration!

I have two cards to share. Lien and I taught these two cards (plus one more) at our table during the event. I gave my cards away so I only have the two pictures below.

Card 1: Elegant Peony

To start, I die cut a panel of white cardstock with the Charming Flora Cover Die. I love adding texture to the background of a white on white card so this piercing die is perfect. Next, I die cut all of the pieces of the Elegant Peony from white cardstock. I ink blended each layer a different color in rainbow order (I used Simon Says Stamp Rainbow inks) and adhered the layers together with liquid glue. I added glue only in the middle part of the layers so I could curl up the petals for additional dimension at the end. I splattered the flower with a little water and liquid pixie dust for sparkle and texture. I adhered the flower, stem, and leaves onto the card front, and added a black twine bow for a final little detail. For the sentiment, I stamped a sentiment from the Beautiful Day stamp set. I masked off the last word of the sentiment, and used the Love Die instead. The detail layer is from black cardstock and the shadow layer from vellum. Lastly, I added a little bling using sparkling clear sequins. The Elegant Peony is gorgeous and can be used in so many different colors for unique cards.

Card 2: Sweet Friend

My second card features the new Sweet Friend stamp and die set. I started by trimming a panel of white cardstock down by 0.5 inches on each side. I used the Chic Chevron stencil to stencil the background with blue and green ink. Then I stamped and colored a mouse and his flower umbrella from Sweet Friend with alcohol markers. I die cut the largest heart in the Quirky Hearts die set from white cardstock. I popped up the frame with foam tape and glued the inner heart directly to the card front. I popped up the mouse and flower with foam tape as well. For the sentiment, I mixed stamping and die cutting. The stamped portion is from Sweet Friend and the die cut ‘friend’ uses the Friend die inked in the same blue as the background. Finally, I added some clear, sparkling sequins for embellishment.

Hope you enjoyed the cards! Please spread the word about Alex Syberia Designs so more people know about this fabulous company!
