Welcome to Day 2 of the countdown to the May MFT Stamps release! Yesterday, I decided to hold off on posting my second card and instead I’ll post it on release day, Tuesday.
Today, I am featuring the YUZU Hula Hippos stamp set. I just love these adorable, dancing hippos! I added a wobbler to my hippo to add to the fun nature of this stamp set.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
- Stamp several images from YUZU Hula Hippos and color with copic markers and prisma colored pencils. I used a wide variety of markers as a base layer for many of the images and then added details and shading with copics. This is a skill I need to practice more and do more because I really like the look. For the small images like the toucan or the tiki torch, I colored it in pencils. Add white gel pen details.
- For the hippo, I stamped it twice because I fussy cut the heat off of one and put it on the other colored image. I did this for added dimension to the hippo.
- Die cut the images with the coordinating die-namics.
- Add a mini action wobbler behind the hippo. Be sure to head over to my Instagram account to see a quick video of the wobble 🙂
- Using the Funky Florals Stencil, ink blend Cotton Candy, Poppin’ Pink, and Grapesicle inks in random places over the stencil. Use the same colors for the second stencil layer alternating which color the center is.
- Die cut the stenciled panel with a stitched rectangle die from Blueprints 29.
- Add a layer of vellum and attach the images to this layer. Add glue behind the images and adhere to the stenciled panel.
- Pop up some scrap strips of patterned paper from Soft Stripes paper pad.
- Stamp a sentiment in black on Poppin’ Pink cardstock and trim into a banner.
- Embellish with clear sequins.

I appreciate you stopping by! I will have another peek at the release tomorrow.
