Christmas Gnomes – Alex Syberia IG hop!

Project Overview

It is time to celebrate the Alex Syberia Design Holiday Digi stamp release! We are celebrating the release with a fun Instagram Hop where our team unites to support new members of our crafty community and to support each other in this crazy time.

I am SO grateful for Alex for allowing me to participate in today’s hop. Today is actually my birthday (yay!), and there is no greater gift than the support of the crafting community. Also, as you know our amazing Kathy (@kathyrac) from #thedailymarker30day is hosting a new coloring challenge. To celebrate, there is 30% off all digital stamps at the Alex Syberia Design Etsy Store this weekend. Use code COLORING and get 30% off (the discount applies when you check out) to all designs including this new Holiday Release! We will be sharing our projects this weekend featuring The Holiday Release. Come hop with us for inspiration, and, of course prizes! Scroll to the bottom to see my inspiration behind this design.

Tag your friends and leave a comment at all the IG stops for your chance to WIN $20 for you and your friend to the AlexSyberiaDesign Etsy store! The more comments you leave the more chances to win. Winners will be chosen randomly from the comments left on each participating designer’s post. All winners will be announced on Alex’s Instagram Hop post on 11/20/2020.

And I would love it if you gave all of us your support and followed all of us on instagram!

Here is where you can find your inspiration from our wonderfully talented designers:

To create this fun Christmas rainbow, slimline card, I printed the digital stamp on 110lb Neenah Solar White cardstock, and colored the image with a variety of copic markers. When I saw the 7 gnomes, I immediately thought about the 7 colors of the rainbow or the 7 dwarves, but a rainbow sounded more fun! To me, rainbows are my LBD. It’s good for all times and all seasons so the holidays are no different! With seven main colors in the rainbow and seven adorable gnomes – it was perfect!

As I’ve mentioned in previous posts, I love adding little details to make a piece extra special for the recipient. For this card, I loved playing with my copic opaque white ink (on my list of craft must-haves) to add details to the gnome beards and hair. I added Glossy Accents on each nose and added sparkle to something – the star, gift, or accessory – on each little gnome. I stretched my coloring skills to try and add a glow around each star that reflects on a nearby element and I added in folds or lumps to the gnome hats for added dimension. I still have a very long way to go, but little by little I am gaining confidence in my coloring. Lastly, to match the rainbow theme, I added some rainbow washi tape to the background. What an adorable stamp to color! I made several cards out of a variety of these wonderful holiday designs, so stay tuned to see the rest of them.

Have you started your holiday cards yet? Where are you finding holiday inspiration? After the hop, I think I will start so I can get them all done by the middle of December (fingers crossed!). If you liked this card or have any feedback, please let me know on here or on IG! If you’re inspired by my piece, please tag me so I can see what you create. Thanks & happy crafting!
