April Release! – MFT Stamps

It’s release day! Head over to the shop and pick up your favorites or add it to your wish list! There are some really cute products in this release, as always. 🙂

For my inspiration today, I made a fairly simple card showcasing an inky background. With backgrounds like this, I think the background is so busy that the other elements should be minimal.

STEP-BY-STEP INSTRUCTIONS
  1. On distress watercolor paper, create an inky background using distress ink sprays. I can’t remember the exact colors I used, but I used yellow, orange, and gold mica spray. Instead of spraying directly on a panel of cardstock, I sprayed the color on my glass mat, picked it up with a scrap piece of acetate, and smooshed it on a my cardstock. Make sure to dry between layers to get that layered look.
  2. After the panel was dry, die cut with Peek-a-Boo Honeycomb Die-namics. Keep some of the hexagons that fall out.
  3. Adhere the die cut panel on top of another panel of white cardstock that was ink blended with yellow ink unevenly.
  4. Adhere some of the negative hexagons with foam tape randomly throughout the background.
  5. Stamp and copic color a gnome and bees from Buzzing with Happiness. Die cut with the coordinating die-namics.
  6. Adhere the images to the card front.
  7. Stamp a sentiment from the set on yellow cardstock and die cut with a banner die from Blueprints 25.
  8. Die cut another banner from Springing for Houndstooth Paper Pad.
  9. Adhere the banners together on the card front.
